Did this happen to anyone else?

OK So I am 17 days post op and my TOM was due last week... and its still not here. I think I am holding on to water weight which is why I didnt loose any weight last week. I know for a fact that I am not preggers because I had a blood test done the day before surgery and well nothing has happened since then.

So I was wondering did surgery cause anyone else to be late?

  1. I actually had my TOM for my surgery. Doc made me quit all medications including birth control the week before my surgery. It arrived on schedule the following month.

  2. I had mine right after surgery because the Dr. wanted me to stop the pill. BUT your body has gone through a lot so I am pretty sure that might be normal for you. It took my body about two months to get it self fully back together.

  3. Mine was late - I think surgery throws everything out of wack. Not to mention the change in diet. Don't sweat it.

  5. I actually started my TOM during surgery. I woke up with a maxi pad that I didn't have when I went in to surgery. My TOM came on time the following month but it behaved differently for a couple months. (i.e the flow/ # of days, etc). I will say that my surgeon was very clear about me using and keeping track of my birth control. Her reasons were because a) there can be some irregularities in your cycle after surgery and b) even a small amount of weight loss can improve fertility. SOOOOOO... if you find yourself in a situation to do the horizontal hula :D make sure you have all the "bases" covered.

  7. Hey GG! New follower! Will be banded in December so I am very interested in your journey. I do not have TOM anymore and have had several surgeries. I found that the stress of the surgery and anesthesia really not everything out of whack for a few months. Don't worry. Its all good!
