How do you know when you are full?

So how do you know when you are full? They say that there are signals... but I have never experienced that.

I measure out my food, and only eat whats on my plate. But I have never had a full signal...

What is your signal?

  1. It took me awhile to realize when I was getting full or felt full, I can't describe it I just started paying attention to how I felt. But of course you have the band so it might be different. I think Lap Band gal blogged about this once.

  2. I have a big sigh when I'm ready to be done. Occasionally I'll have a few more bites, but my big satisfied sigh is definitely my signal.

  3. For me when I am full, my nose stuffs up and I usually have a hiccup. That tells me that if I take another bite I am in BIG trouble. It is different for everyone though.

  4. First of all, I can tell you that for a long time I never felt full. Like you, I measured out my food, ate it and stopped when it was gone...I didn't feel full, only no longer hungry. But at about the 7 month mark I started to notice that when I did eat a little more than normal (or something a little more dense than normal) I get something like a cross between a sigh and a hiccup. I now know that is my soft-stop signal. If I don't stop at that point (even if I haven't finished my measured out food) then it always ends up badly.

  5. I don't think I have an sign.... I usually stop when I am thirsty or just try and pay attention to when I am no longer hungry. I don't feel 'full'; I could eat until I burst usually. I just try to stop way before that!
