So since surgery in October, I have totally been slacking in the exercise department...I have decided that I have no more excuses and I plan on hitting up the gym after support group tonight.
I was wondering though... should I just do Cardio for like a month to get back into the swing of things or should I start lifting weights right away too?
Any suggestions? It has been a very long time since I have done anything like that.
Personally, I think you should focus on just doing what you enjoy doing the most for a while no matter what activity that might be. At least until you reach a point where exercise is a consistent part of your daily routine. If you love the elliptical-- rock it out like crazy, Zumba your thing?-- do it 24/7. I think getting back in the exercise groove is priority one. Then slowly start trying out/adding new things. For now, I think you are gonna benefit from any kind of added activity, but (just my opinion) the most important thing is learning to make exercise a daily habit.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is best to do both, but you have to find something that you like doing. Just the fact that you are getting back into it will be a GREAT thing!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
I already told you what to do, woman! lol
