Exercise time...

So since surgery in October, I have totally been slacking in the exercise department...I have decided that I have no more excuses and I plan on hitting up the gym after support group tonight.

I was wondering though... should I just do Cardio for like a month to get back into the swing of things or should I start lifting weights right away too?

Any suggestions? It has been a very long time since I have done anything like that.

  1. Personally, I think you should focus on just doing what you enjoy doing the most for a while no matter what activity that might be. At least until you reach a point where exercise is a consistent part of your daily routine. If you love the elliptical-- rock it out like crazy, Zumba your thing?-- do it 24/7. I think getting back in the exercise groove is priority one. Then slowly start trying out/adding new things. For now, I think you are gonna benefit from any kind of added activity, but (just my opinion) the most important thing is learning to make exercise a daily habit.

  2. I think that it is best to do both, but you have to find something that you like doing. Just the fact that you are getting back into it will be a GREAT thing!

    Awesome!
