The fill that never happened...

So November 16th I got my first fill. 2 CC for a total of 3. At first I was super restricted… I had to be really careful to chew everything etc. All of the sudden I am loosey goosey. I feel even less restricted now then I was after surgery. Last night I was eating a steak my roommate cooked for dinner… and I was like wait a minute, I just ate a steak with no problem whatsoever. I also find myself hungry all the time. What happened? I want my restriction back. I don’t have another fill for two weeks. I guess its time to learn if I can actually avoid temptation. So far so good.

I had my first final last night… I think I aced it! Woo hoo! One down two to go!

So one more thing. I have been cleared to work out finally! But I am kind of scared that I am going to hurt my port... did anyone feel this way? What kind of exercise did you start out with? Did you start slowly or jump right in?

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday!!!

What a whirlwind weekend! I happy to say that I managed not to gain any weight, however, not so happy that I didn’t loose any weight… but its all good.

Thursday my boyfriend came into town with his family! Was so excited to see him as its been 8 months since I have seen him last… Long Distance relationships suck by the way. We drove to Miami and had dinner with his family all 42 of them. LOL At least it wasn’t that awkward as I met them all last year when we were just friends, so they were happy to see me. Friday however, was the big day where my mother got to meet him. I was so nervous as my mother is a tough and rough New Yorker and tells it like it is. The last time I brought someone home, she didn’t like them, and made sure they knew it. We went to lunch and luckily, she liked him as much as I do… Thank god for small miracles. Then Friday night we went out to see my favorite local band and he got to meet all of my friends. Once again they loved him… so it was a nice stress free fun night. I did however drink a little too much.

Saturday we had breakfast and it was off to Gainesville. The Gators lost… and that was depressing but at least I got to see my friend Liz before she left for the Navy. Sunday was an emotional day as it was time for me to head home and leave my wonderful boyfriend with his family. To make matters worse I hit major traffic. A 4 hour drive took 6.5 and I watched in my rear view mirror as a man on a motorcycle was hit by a huge pick up truck.

I am glad to be home and back on track. I have my first final tomorrow and I haven’t studied for it… and two more next week. It is going to be a long week.

How was your Thanksgiving? What kid of fun did you get in to?

Week from Hell...

Sorry I have been missing from Blog land... but I am having a week from hell :(

Friday was work drama, Saturday I found out my aunt had a heart attack and was in the hospital. Luckily, she is ok and has been released from the hospital.

Yesterday I found out my only living grandparent had a massive heart attack and a bowl obstruction. They fixed the bowl obstruction and she is refusing treatment for the heart attack and refusing to eat... which makes me think she is ready to pass on. My uncle said I could try and call her but she is in and out of lucidness so do not be offended if she doesn't know who I am.

My mom also went to the doctor today and got an upper GI or something like that and it turns out she has a herniated esophagus... she is most likely going to need surgery.

Finals start next week... and I am stressed out to the max, so blogging isn't on my to do list at the moment...

BYOC!

It’s Friday and that means it’s time for another installment of BYOC! That’s Bring Your Own Crazy!! We answer 5 questions in an effort to get to know each other better and to give our blogging brains a break! Copy and paste to your own blog if you so desire – and ENJOY!

I’m going to do a Thanksgiving themed BYOC this week (it was Jenny’s idea)!

1. What is your FAVORITE part of Thanksgiving?

Being with Family and friends

2. How many Thanksgiving family events will you attend?

Only one this year... My boyfriend will be in town to see his family. So they do a giant get together with about 30 people. It was amazing last year... so I am hoping that this year will be just as nice!

3. What’s your biggest Thanksgiving tradition?

I dont really have one anymore. My mom used to have this big dinners, but now that its just her and I... we really only do big things on Christmas.

4. Do you Black Friday shop the day after Thanksgiving?

I did once and it was the worst experience ever. So I try and stay away from anywhere shopping on black Friday.

5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in real life and in blog world.

Blog world is great. Reading blogs and trying to comment as much as possible.

Real world is good and bad... Work is stressing me the hell out, in fact yesterday another co worker made me feel so bad that I actually cried... that doesnt happen often. Other than that life is good!

Skinny Santa Weigh in, First Fill and Writing Prompt

Start Weight: 275
Previous Weight: 256
Current Weight 254
Loss of 2 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I got my first fill!! I was given 2CC yesterday for a total of 3CC. It was way easier then I thought it was going to be, especially since I absolutely hate needles. The funny thing is... I thought my port was higher up then it was. Cause in my upper abdomen it looks like something is sticking out, but they put the band aid by where my scar is... weird. Do you guys know where your port is? Or am I the only crazy person that thought it was somewhere else?

Now onto the writing prompt:

What has been the happiest moment of you life so far? It would have to be when I graduated the first time around. In May of 2007 I graduated with a BA degree double majored in Real Estate and Management and a separate degree in Chemistry. My family was super proud of me... as I was the first one in my family to graduate with a 4 year degree. I paid for college completely on my own, so I felt that I had finally achieved something that I worked so hard for.

Happy Friday!!

10 Things Thursday...and prompt...

  1. I am supposed to get my first fill today... fingers crossed that it happens
  2. I have support group tonight and I am really looking forward to it
  3. I should be able to start working out very very soon, I am super excited about it!
  4. This weekend is my day of beauty before the boyfriend comes to town. I am really looking forward to having my hair done and getting a mani and pedi!
  5. Finals are coming up and I am freaking out... so much to do, so little time!
  6. I am grateful school is almost over... I need a break!
  7. My boyfriend is meeting my mom for the first time next week... this should be interesting.
  8. My mom has been super supportive... she even offered to help me with the down payment of my first house. I think she has been invaded by pod people... but I like the results.
  9. Work has been super brutal lately... I almost wanted to cry this morning.
  10. Christmas is coming up and I am drawing a blank for presents... I hate giving gift cards though.
Today's NaBloPoMo prompt is, "Make a list of everyone you've ever had a crush on in your entire life, then choose one from the list and describe him or her in great detail."

  1. Cliff
  2. Phil
  3. Rob
  4. Brian
  5. Sam
Hrmmm lets talk about Sam. Sam is a mans man... a total alpha male. We met in College in 2006. What I love about Sam, is he is a no nonsense kind of guy... he tells it like it is, and I am the same way. He is also a complete gentleman, he opens car doors, and regular doors, compliments you and pays for things. He also has the most beautiful hazel eyes I have ever seen. He is a total charmer... he could charm the venom out of a snake. We tested the waters, but a long term relationship would never work out between us as we are too much alike. However, I am thankful that him and I have remained close friends!
